It was Christmas night, and my heart stopped beating. My husband had gotten up to get some water, and when he came back he saw I was not breathing. He woke up my son, a trained EMT, who was able to give me CPR and keep me alive. I was rushed to the hospital and for 4 days was in a coma, my family being told there was a 70% chance I would never wake up. I’ve been told now that my church family jumped into action, and prayed for me all day and all night. On the 5th day, I woke up, and the doctors had put an ICD in my heart. I call it Gracie, because Grace is a gift that we are given that we didn’t necessarily deserve. Though this experience has been extremely difficult, I have been able to connect with so many other people who have had similar situations, and we have been able to talk about our Lord Jesus, and the Grace that he gives us every day. I’m so thankful that I’ve got another day to share Lord Jesus’ light to our world, and invite everyone to do so with every moment you are given on this earth.
