Day 2

Welcome back friend as we reclaim truth in this season,

We’re going to kill another lie today: Your relationship status has NOTHING to do with your worth.

Read that again.

Seriously, let’s jump into the topic of worth. Maybe people have told you or it has at least been insinuated that your life doesn’t mean as much because you are single right now.

That is crazy! And you know why? Because every person matters to Jesus and He has called each of us into His family, and into His ministry – no relationship status required.

Does God use married people, of course! And as the Apostle Paul clearly reminds us, He also uses single people too.

Every season of our lives is designed for us to be closer to God and this one is no exception. So, I want to challenge you to think of this season not as a punishment – because it’s not – and see it instead as a gift. Right now, you have the most freedom you will ever have. It’s literally you and God.

If you’re desiring to be married someday, this won’t always be the case so use this season to be the foundation that will be the launching pad for all of the other ones, including marriage.

For instance, if you get in the habit of daily time with the Lord, reading the Bible, prayer, etc. it will be so much easier to keep this habit when you have a family someday. Now, keeping in mind our desire should always be about getting closer to Jesus Christ rather than trying to earn favor to be “given a spouse”.

That’s not the goal, and friend that’s not how it works. Instead, it is about trusting and knowing He has that right time in mind for this and every other thing in life.

Building our relationship with the Lord should always be priority, and in singleness that should be no different. Imagine, you had a significant other, but you never spent time with them. Explain to me how serious that relationship could be… not very. Well, the Lord is the most valuable relationship we can ever have as humans so let’s take it seriously now, and in every season to come.

A Pastor once mentioned to me that all we have is the present to live in. We can only make decisions in the here and now. Right now that means in singleness so even now I choose Jesus first.

Another action point: Your value comes from the Lord, but do you claim that every day?

“I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” – Psalm 139:14

Is this truth plastered to your mind and heart? The Lord wants to fill you with His love, compassion, and hope but He can’t do that if you don’t allow it. He wants to give you courage, but are you leaning into His presence in your life?

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” – Deut. 31:6

He goes with you. Jesus Christ is constantly offering Himself to you and for you, but are you accepting this gift? The hard truth we need to face is no person will ever complete us like Jesus. Only He can. Are you allowing Him to fill you? Because not only can He, but He promises to!

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” – Romans 15:13

As you trust in Him is key here – we have to trust Him! Are you choosing to trust Him with your singleness? It is crazy to think that sometimes it is easier to trust Him with our eternity than our future here on earth, but I am here to remind you friend that He loves us so well. He knows what is best. Let’s trust Him more every day.
